WhatsApp is currently testing a new “Threaded Message Replies” feature within its latest iOS beta version 25.19.10.80, released via the TestFlight program, as initially reported by WaBetaInfo. This innovative update is designed to bring a more organized and structured format to individual message replies, aiming to prevent conversations from getting lost, especially in bustling group chats.
Similar to threading systems found on platforms like Slack or iMessage, this upcoming feature will allow users to follow replies grouped directly under their original message. A small indicator on each message will display the number of replies it has received. Tapping this indicator will transport users to a dedicated screen where all responses related to that specific message are neatly compiled into a thread. This functionality is particularly beneficial for group conversations where multiple individuals might be responding to the same message, enabling users to focus on a particular discussion without endless scrolling.
While currently under development and not yet immediately visible even to those on the latest beta, the feature is expected to roll out in a future update following internal testing. WaBetaInfo also noted a similar update spotted earlier this year on WhatsApp beta for Android, suggesting the company’s commitment to implementing this feature across both major mobile operating systems.
In related news, WhatsApp recently introduced new tools for its business users, aiming to make customer interactions faster, more personalized, and simpler to manage. These additions include AI-powered chat support, real-time voice and video calling capabilities, and enhanced marketing tools, all integrated directly within the WhatsApp Business app.
