Bulawayo, July 8, 2025 – South Africa took full control of the second Test against Zimbabwe after stand-in captain Wiaan Mulder delivered one of the finest innings in Test history, scoring an unbeaten 367 runs to lead his side to a massive first-innings total.

South Africa declared on 626/5, and Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 170 in their first innings. Forced to follow on, Zimbabwe ended Day 2 at 51/1, still trailing by 405 runs.

Mulder’s Masterclass

Mulder chose to declare before attempting Brian Lara’s 400*, stating that the team’s goal was to win the match and series, rather than chase records.
