Good news is on the horizon for Pakistani consumers as a significant petrol price drop is expected from August 16, 2024. This potential reduction could provide much-needed relief to those struggling with high living costs.
Expected Price Changes
According to sources, the petrol price drop could be as much as 12 rupees per liter. Specifically:
- Petrol may decrease by 9 rupees per liter.
- Diesel might see a reduction of around 8.5 rupees per liter.
- Kerosene oil could drop by more than 12 rupees per liter.
This potential petrol price drop is particularly important for Balochistan, where a severe fuel crisis has caused petrol prices to skyrocket to as high as 550 rupees per liter. The anticipated reduction could help alleviate some of the pressure on consumers in the region.
The final details on the new prices will be provided by OGRA on August 15, 2024. The new rates will be officially announced after consultations with the Finance Minister and the Prime Minister.
Previous Price Reduction
This expected petrol price drop follows a previous reduction on August 1, which also offered some relief to consumers. If the anticipated cut materializes, it will mark another step towards easing the financial burden on the public.
